THE FIRST ONE!

Here's my finished January pages. It has been so easy to fill in a small 4cm square each evening, it doesn't take up a lot of time and some of the entries are quite boring and others I have been able to elaborate as you can see, hopefully. Now ready to go with February.

ART CALENDAR FEBRUARY

I have just put the finishing touches to my February pages for Kate's Art Calendar challenge. I say finishing touches but it's not exactly finished as I will add to it as I go along. I used dabbers for the background choosing dull beige/brown colours because I think of February as being dull I have added a little colour yellow and blue here and there these are to represent the occasional sun and blue sky we may have if lucky. All the paper squares, February and 2010 are Basic Grey papers, everything is outlined in black and I have added a couple of Zetti people from Lisa's Altered Art sheets which I reduced to be as small as poss. Tomorrow I will post my completed January pages.

WOYWW

I have decided to join "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" over on Julia's blog after visiting various peoples blogs. I feel a bit embarassed actually as my workdesk looks tidy, sorry. I finished 2 projects last night and after filling in my Art Calendar I decided to tidy up ready to start my next project. My bin, which proves how much work I have done, underneath my desk is choca and waiting to be emptied, please believe me. The Urban Outfitters Bag is a late Christmas present for a friend who I shall be seeing tonight (Curry Night) and the Santa prezzie bag has 2 more late Xmas boxes (decorated pencil cases) for 2 more curry addicts. The wicker basket holds EZ mount and new stamps waiting to be mounted. If you can see the Penguins on my small easel this is a Xmas card from DH and I just love the penguin picture no other sentimental reason for keeping it. You can also see my Art Calendar next to my lamp and so far i have kept up to it. Now I need to go and prepare the February page before I go out.

Elena's Birthday Card & PDCC 13

This is a birthday card for my grand-daughter Elena, she will be 14 years old on Thursday. OMG doesn't time fly. The card is very much her as she is into "grungey stuff" but at the same time it is suitable for the PDCC 13 as the colour challenge this week is dark red, turquoise, black and white. The turquoise base is a Claudine Hellmuth sticky back canvas piece which I have painted with Claudine's paints, gone over sequin waste with a snowy white dabber, mounted on to black card and stitched all the way round twice, attached the Artchix white wings and mounted the Stampotique girl. My Stampotique image I have coloured with Perfect Pearls. The tag I stamped in Brilliance Moonlight White and embossed with clear embossing powder, faux stitched in white using my Inkessentials pen, fixed a turquoise eyelet and threaded red ribbon. I attached the piece to the red card using Tim's washers and faux screws. It took ages deciding what to do and several attempts but once started it began to flow.

SPRING ATC's

It doesn't actually feel like Spring yet but here are two ATC's I have made this evening with the theme Spring. They are for a swap at the Craft Den this month. I am not sure which one Ilike the most, the one on the left the background is actually green but on the photo it looks a pinky/beige for some unknown reason. I stamped them both with a Penny Black Golden Daffodils stamp, embossed with a Blonde Moments Fresh Yellow Iridescent embossing powder. I cut notches at each corner with a corner punch and threaded gold thread all the way round. The pearl centre of each flower is a Vivo gold pen (from the Craft Den). They are both mounted on to a lime green card. The dark green one I embossed the flowers first, made a mask and then using a Crafty Individuals script stamp I stamped and embossed with clear powder over the top, which was quite difficult as I was in fear of melting the yellow daffodils. Now I need to decide which one is for the swap.

ZETTIOLOGY SWAP

This is an ATC I have made as part of a monthly swap on Chrissy Rollins blog. The idea is to make 5 ATC's, keep one for yourself and the other 4 are sent by the last day of the month to swap. This months theme is ZETTIOLOGY so this is my version, all 5 are different but they could be all the same the choice is yours. I have not done Zetti before today so I am hoping that I have the correct idea but I have really enjoyed making the ATC's.

Play Date Cafe Challenge 12

OMG I have just finished this in time just 50 mins to go before the challenge closes. It is a pencil box which I have painted and stamped using Crafty Individual stamps of trees birds and flowers. The butterflies are a Wendy Vechi stamp and all the embellishments are grunge paper. I have used different shades of blue. The pencil box itself I painted using Claudine Hellmuth Teal mixed with white and I edged the whole of the box with a dark blue Ranger dabber. I did all of this inbetween collecting my 2 grand-daughters from school, taking them to the dentist, cooking dinner, eating it, walking the dogs and taking the girls home again, I am shattered.

RSS CHALLENGE 13 Re done

I wasn't very happy with my fan for the RSS challenge 13 which I posted at the weekend so I have made a few alterations. I have removed the pink backing which I did not like and used pink ribbons threaded through each section, I have renewed the lace and added the red hearts. I personally prefere this version.

READY STEADY STAMP CHALLENGE 13

This is the first challenge of the new year from RSS. The challenge is to make a fan shape, the colours to use are pink, red, white/cream and black, ladies, hearts and lace had to feature too. My fan is made from black card with torn cream and black music sheet which I edgde with Fired Brick distress ink. I stamped 3 guitars using red Versafine ink and embossed in Blonde Moments red festive candy, I don't think you can see the colour too well on the photo. The images I used are from Dezinaworld and they are gypsies. I attached cream lace down the sides of 3 fan shapes, stamped 3 Blonde Moments hearts in TSS red metal which I have attached at the bottom with one red silk heart holding them in place. The whole is mounted on to a pink lace doyle (I think that's how you spell it). It is based on a Spanish Theme.

Play Date Cafe Challenge 11

Here's my WISE OWL he is my entry for the PDCChallenge this week. The colours to use are Black, white, silver and gold. The background is black card edged in gold with a Krylon pen, a torn edge black and white 7 Gypsies paper "Zanzibar" also edged with the gold Krylon pen, my white card is edged the same and then stamped in black around the edge with a Basic Gray stamp. I stamped the title "Wise Owl" on to black card in gold letters (the letters are meant to be irregular) and edged in gold. The owl I stamped on to silver metal using Black Adirondack, I puffed him out using the TSS metal tools, filled the back with Glossy Accents, his black eyes are done with the Viva black pearl pen. I hope you can see the detail on him as the photos don't always do justice. I love him I have a thing about owls at the moment, he actually is a Basic Gray stamp.

QUOTE BOOK

This is a book which I started with Dyan at AFTH in the summer. I decided this week to finish it because of the snow I haven't been able to get out much so it was a perfect opportunity. It has taken a long time as there are 21 pages in mine. It is a very "grungy" book with torn book pages, pictures and papers glued on to the pages before painting. The paints I have used have been a mixture of Ranger Dabbers and Claudine Hellmuth paints. There are quotes on each page and background stamping. I am quite relieved now it is finished as I hate unfinished projects.

So Picturesque

In my neck of the woods it started snowing at approx 7am today and it has snowed non stop until about 5pm and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it's the last we see of it. Unlike some people who have taken advantage of being marooned at home and done some crafting I haven't done any. I took quite a few photos of my dogs playing in the snow and my garden covered in the lovely white stuff just to prove to my husband how much fell today (he's in France). I took the dogs out twice and it took so long walking in the snow and was such hard work that I didn't have the energy to craft but I am going to do some now at 6.30pm.

Play Date Cafe Challenge 10

Here's my entry to the challenge over on Play Date Cafe. The colours to use are dusky pink, turquoise, and brown, I used Basic Gray card as the turquoise has the other 2 colours in it and the brown has pink. I had forgotten that I have some Dolly Mamma's stamps, I found them after tidying away all the Christmas stuff and rearranging. These stamps appeal to my sense of humour. I made one for a friend a few years ago when she was ready to give birth. You may not be able to see it on the photo but the sign she is holding says READY and at the bottom I have stamped WHATEVER..

INSIDE MY ART CALENDAR

Before I did my double page layout for January I decorated the first 2 pages of my book and here they are. I used Dabbers for the background and stamped here and there in black using Tim Holtz background stamps. I cut the letters out for the first page coloured and stamped on them, the small black labels which you cannot see are the months of the year, I went around all of these and the letters using black sharpie and white Inkssentials pen. The next page I printed one of Jill's quotes on to coloured paper and tore round it. I cut out the circles and wrote the words in the centre, drew round them lots of times and drew the lines with black pen as if they are hanging. Using a journaling stamp for a label saying who the book belongs to and at the very bottom wrote "journey" and used a rub on quote "destination unknown" finally the arrow pointing the direction.

My January pages are in blue and white to give the feeling of cold, I don't think you can see the white stamping very well in the photos but they are leafless trees and background snow. I printed out a quote for the top left hand corner definition of Day. I used 3 mini fairies from Lisa's Altered Art made them stand out by outlining in black pen. There are a few dabber circles here and there and finally I made a wax seal in gold. Now the only thing left is to fill in all the squares.
